Memphis, Tn - A young expectant mother and her boyfriend got an unexpected surprise as they were walking out of a Bartlett Wal-Mart. A group of women handed them a jar of money!

The couple says they were speechless when they were handed the jar. In fact the 23-year old expectant mother says she broke down crying.

They say the money couldn't have come at a better time and they came to us so they could publicly thank those women, who they call angels.

And, we found, a New York Times, Best Selling Book may be the inspiration behind this "Christmas Jar".

Dashae Davis' baby boy is due January 14th. She and her boyfriend were shopping at the Bartlett Wal-Mart on Highway 64 Monday night, when they say they were approached in the parking lot, by a group of women wearing pajamas.

"One person jumped up and said Merry Christmas with a big jar. I looked around, I thought it was a joke, I was looking for cameras and they said, 'no Merry Christmas this is not a joke.'"

Inside the jar was $385 and a book called Christmas Jars by Jason Wright.

First published in 2005, the book is about a rising newspaper reporter hoping to uncover the secret behind the glass jars filled with coins and bills, anonymously given to people in need.

The book has prompted a website with stories of people giving and receiving Christmas jars.

Davis says, "I want to say thank you so much this came at a really great time. I just want to tell them thank you, however you are."

Davis says she and her boyfriend are spending all the money on the baby.

"I want to know who they are so bad, they left out of Wal-Mart, I gave them all hugs and they jumped in a truck and drove off like some angels or something."

Davis said she hadn't heard of the book but, already started reading it.
