MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The head of the Memphis Animal Shelter is dressing up in a dog costume and locking himself in a cage over the weekend.
It's all part of a special event Saturday. Matthew Pepper said he'll stay locked up in the cage until all 31 dogs available for adoption have found new homes. As part of the special event, the normal $75 adoption fee is being cut to just $25.
That price includes adoptions for all dogs and cats. The dogs available Saturday include several different breeds of all ages including puppies.
The Memphis Animal Shelter is located at 3456 Tchulamoma Road. The shelter is open Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
