MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Along with flowers, April showers could usher in the re-opening of Hickory Ridge mall. It was almost two years ago that a tornado destroyed the mall.

With just under 5 million dollars of renovation completed, the mall is beginning to look like new.

Mall planners say, the mall is not just about bringing in revenue and attracting new business, it's also about re-building the community.

"Our vision is to overall be able to renovate as we're doing right now, restore, and rejuvenate the community by having a footprint here that they can come into and be able to do retail, have community services, as well as a medical mall, and family and fun entertainment."

The mall has forty stores ready to do business, but none have signed contracts.

The Hickory Ridge Mall is scheduled to re-open in April.
