Memphis, TN - Inside the halls of Central High School things are changing.
“Different times of the school year you have to kinda re-focus your students,” Central High Principal Greg McCullough said.
McCullough said he suspended roughly 80 students because they violated the MCS uniform policy.
They key to the MCS dress code centers around colors.
Students can wear tan, navy blue, or black shirts. They are not allowed to wear blue jeans.
McCullough said that was the basis for most of the suspensions. The suspensions came after a call to parents Monday and a warning to students the same day.
Former MCS student Brittany Robinson said the uniform policies are there for a reason and she is glad to hear about the suspensions. McCullough said while he doesn’t want any of his students to miss school, in this case it is all about policy.
“Its about following the rules and following the policy and with a big population. You want to make sure you keep those things on track to make everything else go smooth,” McCullough said.
