Woman Killed in Mendenhall Hit & Run

A woman is dead after she was struck by a car in a hit and run accident early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred around 12:30am on Mendenhall, just south of Knight-Arnold.

Investigators state that the victim, a 27-year old woman, was crossing Mendenhall when a north-bound vehicle hit her. The car drove into the parking lot of a nearby BP gas station, turned around, and fled the scene traveling south on Mendenhall.

Emergency crews transported the victim to The Med in extremely critical condition. She died later that day.

The vehicle is described as a white car with a blue rag top, possibly a Buick, with Mississippi temporary tags. The driver is described as a heavy-set black male with a beard, possibly in his 30's.
