A FedEx tractor trailer carrying a shipment of tires was completely destroyed by a fire resulting from a crash involving a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 4:15pm on the 5500-block of Raines Road.
A motorcycle, driven by 23-year old Brad Wilcznski, was exiting a private drive onto Raines when it lost control, hitting a Mercury Grand Prix traveling east on Raines. Wilcznski was thrown from the bike, and the motorcycle flew into a FedEx semi truck traveling west on Raines.
The motorcycle burst into flames upon impact with the truck, engulfing both the motorcycle and tractor trailer in flames. The fire burned the truck completely down to the shell.
The driver of the truck, 48-year old Troy Kent, was able to escape the vehicle without injury. Wilcznski was taken to Baptist East for a broken arm.
Traffic was closed on Raines for several hours before the accident could be cleared.
Wilcznski was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain proper Control.
