Clarksdale Police Chief Gregory Hoskins has been found guilty of three counts of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after an incident at a Southaven convenience store this summer.
On Monday, Southaven Municipal Court Judge B.G. Perry ordered Hoskins to pay a $250 fine on each of the disorderly counts and a $1 fine for resisting arrest -- all misdemeanors. The Commercial Appeal reports the judge gave him suspended jail sentences of 90 days for the disorderly and one day for the resisting.
After the all-day trial ended shortly before 7 p.m., Hoskins, standing beside his attorney, Johnnie E. Walls Jr., said "justice was not served.
The 47-year-old police chief was arrested on June 21 after he got into an argument with a clerk at the Circle K.
