MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis Firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire at an abandoned school in Capleville Friday night.
Emergency crews were called to the sene around 8:35pm. Upon arrival, the building was fully involved. 32 peices of equipment and 79 emergency personell were on the scene.
The old Capleville school at East Shelby Drive and Malone Road had been abandoned for quite some time and did not have power. According to Lt. Wayne Cooke with the Memphis Fire Department, crews mostly fought the fire from the perimeter since the building structure was so unstable.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire, and if arson may have been involved. No one was injured in the incident.
