12 Year Old Found Dead in Frayser

Memphis, Tn - Memphis police are looking for the family of a dead child and anyone who might be responsible for his death. The 12 year old boy was found shot and lying in the middle of Georgian Hills Park in Frayser. The park sits between Georgian Hills Elementary and Georgian Hills Middle.

"We have no information from witnesses and, or suspects at this time. That's why we are doing a full scale death investigation... back tracking the 911 tapes, all the information we can possibly get," Lt. Colonel J.M. Willis said.

Key information is missing at this point. Investigators don't know who the boy belongs to.

"Some of the things we are looking for now are missing person's reports. We are waiting for somebody in the area to file a missing person report. We can start a lead going from that way," Willis said.

Until then, investigators will search the dark park. Since the first call came in around 5:30 Wednesday evening, officers had little daylight to work with on this crime scene.

"We had to work on getting extra equipment here, lighting, so we can start working and expanding on our crime scene to find exactly what we do have and what we do not have," Willis said.
