MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A new vision for the riverfront is the aim of the Memphis Riverfront Development Corporation. But for years, their vision has stalled- mainly the anticipated Beale Street Landing.

Right now the project, which is supposed to bring restaurants, bars, and other attractions to the riverfront, is years behind schedule. The project is also millions of dollars over budget.

Originally the project was supposed to cost about $27.5 million. Now the estimates for completing the project are closer to $35 million.

Just last month, the city gave the RDC another million dollars to help complete the project. The project was supposed to be completed next year, but workers say it won't be done for another two years.

Is the city throwing away money, or will the riverfront become one of the best in the nation? The RDC's Benny Lendermon and William Bryant, who has lived along the riverfront for 30 years, joined FOX13 to talk about the future of the riverfront.

Fox 13's Marcus Hunter also went downtown to hear what tax payers had to say about stalled projects.
