Officials in the West Tennessee town of Toone are investigating the death of a woman as a homicide.
Hardeman County Sheriff Delphus Hicks stated 51-year-old Anita Flatt was found in her home by her mother Monday morning. Flatt had suffered head injuries, but investigators have not concluded her exact cause of death.
Hicks said there was no indication of robbery and the investigation didn't immediately produce a suspect.
The sheriff said Flatt had spoken with her mother Sunday night, about 13 hours before her body was found. An autopsy is being performed in Memphis.
TBI Special Agent in Charge John Mehr said Flatt's death is a homicide, but declined to say how she died.
