MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Shelby County Election Commission went behind closed doors to talk about how they plan to battle an Election Day lawsuit.
A group of Shelby County Democrats filed a lawsuit, claiming a flawed election system.
On August 5th, some voters were turned away because voting information from May was entered into the system. The error caused several voters to show up as "already voted."
The Election Commission said it was an honest mistake that was caught early.
"I feel very good about where we are as we've maintained from day one. There was one specific issue on august fifth that was addressed very early in the morning by the election commission. We believe the outcome of this election is certain, we feel confident in that, and we look forward to our day in court," said Giannini.
Giannini added that he's certain the lawsuit will be thrown out.
