CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio - A truck driver who authorities said dumped a Tennessee woman's body at a closed Ohio rest stop has pleaded guilty to abusing a corpse.

Thirty-three-year-old Trenton Derenberger of Bucyrus in north-central Ohio could receive up to a year in prison on the plea entered Wednesday in Pickaway County Common Pleas Court. A sentencing date has not been set.

The partially clothed body of 36-year-old Kim Vaughn of Memphis was found July 9 at an abandoned rest area along U.S. route 23 south of Columbus. Police said Derenberger told them she died while he was giving her a ride in Knoxville, Tenn., and that he drove the body to Ohio.

An autopsy didn't determine Vaughn's cause of death. Further test results are still pending.
