Memphis Guidance Counselor Faces Sex Charges

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Police say a man hired to counsel kids, was actually preying on them.

Clarence Mumford is charged with sexual battery and sexual solicitation of a student. Mumford is a guidance counselor at Hillcrest High School.

A female student told polive Mumford put his hand between her legs.

They say the incident happened earlier this month off campus, when the victim met Mumford to get her GED papers.

He's been released on bond.
