MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Former Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton will see a decrease in child support after winning his child support case.

Shea Moskovitz, the attorney for former Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton, confirmed that a judge Tuesday ordered a "modification" in the monthly child support payments Herenton is making to Claudine Marsh, the mother of his youngest child.

Moskovitz said the judge ordered that Marsh will have to pay back several thousand dollars, and that Herenton will now have to pay less than $1,000, less than he is currently paying per month for the support of their child. Herenton was currently paying $2,100 a month.

Attorneys for Claudine Marsh filed a motion in Juvenile Court last October asking for permission to engage Dr. Willie Herenton in various types of discovery, including an opportunity to depose Herenton and review his financial statements.

Moskovitz said all contempt complaints against Herenton were also thrown out by the judge. There are no future child support hearings in the future.
