Propane Tanks Explodes Injuring Worker

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A worker is recovering at the Med after a propane tank exploded at Johnson Imports.

Monday afternoon, the worker was welding using propane when the accident occurred. The explosion happened near South Third and Raines.

The worker was transported to the trauma center at the Med with minor injuries and is expected to recover.

The front window of the business was blown out by the force of the blast.

According to Wayne Cook from the Memphis Fire Department, Johnson Imports makes barbeque grills, among other things.

Memphis Fire is still investigating.
