MEMPHIS, Tenn. - We're learning there has been another arrest made in connection with the Med escapee and it sounds like a scene from a movie.
The inmate was able to get out of handcuffs, a waist chain and leg irons.
Now we're learning law enforcement believes the escapee got a key to the handcuffs from a friend and then dressed as a woman to avoid arrest.
24-year old Keshun Douglas was arrested as he pulled in a Burger King Drive-Thru to order food.
"When he was actually getting ready to place his order, we took him down. He said my name is Keshun and you guys got me," said Lamont Ruffin U.S. Marshal.
The Marshals went into Atlanta to arrest another fugitive, and then spotted Douglas driving a stolen car Monday. Something they attribute to good leg work and a bit of luck.
"He stole several vehicles and used a disguise and that's how he ended up there," said Ruffin.
The Marshals said Douglas, dressed as a woman in an effort to elude authorities.
As FOX13 has previously reported, the marshals say he was well-known in the transgender community.
"When we caught him he was as he was- a man," said Ruffin.
Douglas has been on the run since July 7th, when police say he escaped from a corrections van as it was pulling up to the Regional Medical Center.
The director of corrections, said how he escaped is still under investigation.
"They're in full restraints, handcuffs and leg irons. That's the question. How did he get out of his restraints?" said Andrew Tabor Director of Corrections.
But court documents show, authorities believe this man, Terrance Vassar, provided the key.Vassar was charged with facilitating an escape on July 14th. According to an affidavit, recorded calls from the Corrections Center caught Vassar and Douglas plotting the escape and then planning to head to Atlanta. How Vassar allegedly got the key is still unknown.
"Hopefully, with some additional info we should have this wrapped up in a very short period of time," said Tabor.
The marshals are still looking for 23-year old Mario Jackson who escaped from the Med the same day as Douglas. If you know where he is, call Crimestoppers at 528-CASH.
Another man considered to be extremely dangerous was also captured in Georgia.
The Task Force arrested 34-year old Luricio Barrett who had multiple felony warrants out of Shelby County including Domestic Assault-Bodily Harm, Robbery, two counts of Aggravated Burglary, two counts of Aggravated Kidnapping, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Barrett was found hiding under a couch in a Douglasville, GA apartment. Barrett was transported and booked into the Douglas County Jail where he will remain until he is extradited back to Tennessee.
