GERMANTOWN, Tenn. - The Germantown Police Department has released an administrative review for the 911 call from Lorenzen Wright's cell phone the night he was killed.
The reports states that the duration and disconnection of the wireless call limited what location information could be obtained by the dispatcher. They added that there was not a missing person's case when the call was received. Dispatcher's were not completely sure what they heard were gunshots or fireworks.
According to the statement, the Germantown Police department received the call at 12:05 am on July 19th, 2010. The call taker, Senior Dispatcher C. Kenley-Woods described hearing what appeared to be gunshots.
Senior Dispatcher C. Rowlson joined Dispatcher Kenley-Woods on the line and described what he heard as either gunshots or fireworks. Both stayed on the line but the call was disconnected. Both dispatchers reported only hearing gunshots or fireworks, nothing else.
Woods notified her supervisor Lieutenant D. R. Taylor and they attempted to plot the location on the call on their electronic CAD system (computer aided dispatch) but they were unable to do so. He then attempted to track the latitude and longitude on his iPhone and his attempt was unsuccessful.
According to the review, the call came in as a phase one call that only displayed the number and the coordinates to the closest cell tower. The tower was located in Germantown near the fire station on Cross Country Drive.
Some specific details are not included because Wright's murder is still under investigation.
