JACKSON, Miss. - Two men have been arrested in Jackson for allegedly trying to peddle blocks of wood as laptop computers.

Hinds County authorities charged 45-year-old Eddie Handford and 54-year-old Frank Hamilton with trademark infringement and sale of goods bearing counterfeit labels.

Investigators say the wooden blocks were covered in duct tape and bubble wrap and had a Toshiba label on each. Authorities also found binders filled with paper being passed off as computers.

The men were captured Thursday, after they tried to sell the counterfeit goods to an off-duty state trooper.

Officials say no one actually bought the fakes.

It couldn't be determined Saturday if the men had attorneys.
