Corporal Punishment Decision Delayed by MCS Board

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis City School Board decided Monday night to table the of re-hiring teacher's aides, and bringing back corporal punishment for students.

Board Member Reverend Kenneth Whalum said he's not happy about tonight's vote. He opposed cutting teacher's aides to balance the school budget.

Whalum also presented the measure to bring paddling back into schools, a move that got national attention.
