MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A Former Shelby County DUI deputy was sentenced Friday after being convicted of filing false police reports.

Alvin Dortch has been sentenced to four months in prison and he also has to attend anger management classes. Dortch will have to complete 300 hours of community service and he'll have a curfew from for the remainder of his sentence once he's released.

Dortch was found guilty on two counts of making a false report, but the jury found him not guilty of reckless homicide. Dortch pulled over a drunk driver back in June 2008, but instead of getting out of the vehicle, the driver, Ignacio Arcos, sped away.

Dortch fired two shots at the car, but that's not what he put in his final police report.
Prosecutors say one of those bullets blew out the tire on Arcos' truck. He later crashed and died.
