Two Dead in Overnight Shootings

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Two victims are dead after two separate early morning shootings Saturday.

The first incident happened just after 1:00am on Mosby Avenue near Alabama.

Officers found 18-year old Kawanda Wainwright with an apparent gun shot wound. Victim was transported to the hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

A possible suspect has been identified, but no charges have been filed. This investigation is still ongoing.

Police were called to another shooting a short while later at the 900-block of East Holmes Rd, just after 2:30am.
