Olive Branch, Ms - With the heat index well above 100, some in North Mississippi are still trying to regain normalcy.

During the storm Sara Sawyer’s Byhalia home took a direct hit from a 100 year old tree. Saturday, the reconstruction continues.

Down the road and across the tracks Loyal Barnes parents home was not so lucky. Their 100 year old home is slowly but surely coming down.

Across town at the corner of Church and 78 a once thriving business is being leveled. The damage was deemed to be to great. Only a vending machine reminds residents of what was.

At Old Style BBQ a famous sign is missing. The countless bricks that fell are now gone and workers continue to replace them.

These homes and businesses serve as a chilling reminder of nature’s uncaring fury and how everything can be taken away in the blink of eye. Despite the devastation North Mississippians continue to remain hopeful.
