MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Color photographs of the Lester Street crime scene will be used in the capital murder trial of Jessie Dotson.

Wednesday morning a judge denied a defense request to ban prosecutors' use of color photographs in favor of black and white pictures.

Defense attorneys said the pictures could be prejudicial to their client. Instead, the judge said he would review both color and black-and-white photographs for their relevance in the trial.

Jesse Dotson is accused of killing four adults, including his brother, and two children, his two nephews.

He is also facing attempted murder charges for three other children who were in the home at the time of the incident.

The four adult victims were Cecil Dotson, 30; Marissa Rene Williams, 27; Hollis Seals, 33; and Shindri Roberson, 22. They were found shot multiple times.

The two children were Cemario Dotson, 4, and Cecil Dotson II, 2, and both were stabbed multiple times and beaten to death.

Dotson's trial is set for September in Memphis.
