Grandmother Caught Growing Pot

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A North Memphis grandmother was arrested on drug charges after police found potted marijuana plants outside her home.

Memphis Police spotted the four plants Wednesday outside the home of 65-year old Helen Franklin while searching for a suspect in the area.

When officers went to her door to ask if she was aware of what kind of plants they were, she replied, "Yes, reefer. I planted it."

Franklin was charged with Manufacturing Marijuana and is currently being held on $5,000 bond at the Shelby County Jail.
