Memphis, Tn - Construction crews will work seven days a week, rain or shine, to get Tiger Lane ready for the first football game at the Liberty Bowl this fall.
University of Memphis Athletic Director RC Johnson says the Stadium’s new look is perfect for what new coach Larry Porter is trying to accomplish, “The timing is fantastic for him coming in. His recruiting, trying o get in a BCS conference, is trying to get our football program even higher.”
There will be nearly 600 parking spots surrounding Tiger Lane that will be up for purchase. Each spot will be assigned parking and have a 10 by 10 private plot of grass, adjacent to the big lawn. The lawn will be 14 hundred feet long and 160 feet wide.
Each spot will also have a lamp post with an electric hook-up, no more generators required.
The city of Memphis is working on a program to sell individual Tiger Lane spots for the Classic and Memphis games. The spots will be $25 each.
They are expected to sell out, giving a boost to game attendance.
