MEMPHIS, Tenn. - According to the Shelby County Medical Examiner, the death of a North Memphis woman is the first heat-related death of the year.
The 47-year old victim was found in her home on June 2. The home was not air-conditioned, but there was a box fan running in the residence. The temperature inside the home when the woman was found was 92 degrees. The excessive heat was determined to be a contributing factor to her death.
The woman was last seen alive May 29. Her identity has not been released.
