Memphis, Tn - East High Principal Frederick Curry was suspended on April 18th by Superintendent Kriner Cash, pending an investigation over several fights that broke out at the school.
One of the fights involved 10 students and got so bad that school security had to use mace to break up the brawl. That throw-down prompted an audit into the happenings at the school.
Wednesday, that investigation was completed, but so far MCS is being tight lipped over what the findings are, saying the audit must first be approved by the school board.
Meanwhile, students and parents at east high have to wait even longer to see if and when Principal Curry will return.
"he was a good principal. At first this was a bad school but then it got horrible when he left because he was like a father figure," said one student.
Regardless of the School Board’s decision some parents feel curry shouldn't shoulder all of the blame.
One parent sounded off, "I don't think he should have been taken from the school. It's not the Principal’s fault. It's the students and parents responsibility to get their students in check. I mean the man can only do so much."
Some students we talked to Wednesday had mixed reactions on the possible return of Principal Curry.
"It has been a pretty good school since he had been gone. Our principal, I visited with him today. He is a pretty good Principal. I don't think it was hit fault but he could have done something to change it," a student told Fox 13.
An MCS Spokesperson said Wednesday that a decision resolving the matter could take anywhere from a day to a couple of weeks.
