MPD Officer, MPA President Fired from Police Force

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - J.D. Sewell, a Memphis Police officer and President of the Memphis Police Association, was fired by MPD Wednesday.

According to MPD Spokesperson Karen Rudolph, a hearing was held Wednesday afternoon regarding violations of departmental rules and compromising criminal cases.

As a result of the hearing, Sewell was found in violation of the charges and terminated, effective immediately.
