MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Shelby County Sheriff's deputies arrested two sisters Tuesday after counterfeit money, stolen credit cards and drivers licenses were found in their Germantown apartment.
31-year old Yumekia Robinson and 29 year old Danielle Robinson were arrested just after 9:00am at their apartment on Aldwych Drive near Poplar and Kirby.
Investigators found eight counterfeit $100 bills along with several local and out-of-state driver’s licenses and credit cards. Many were found in purses believed to have been stolen in vehicle burglaries.
Investigators will contact other law enforcement agencies to help find out when and from where the credit cards and driver’s licenses were taken. One driver’s license belonged to a Florida woman.
Deputies also recovered two stolen cars. Investigators say the sisters had used stolen driver’s licenses to rent the cars in Memphis and St. Louis. Both sisters have lengthy arrest histories for property theft, forgery and possession of counterfeit merchandise.
Yumekia Robinson and Danielle Robinson face several charges including Forgery-Counterfeiting, Identity Theft Trafficking, Motor Vehicle Theft and Vehicle Burglary.
