MEMPHIS, Tenn. - 3 East High School students have been charged with aggravated rape following the off-campus assault of a classmate. Now some are wondering when the district's superintendent will address parents and students about this latest incident.

According to police records, the 17 year old East High rape victim agreed to sex with one of the 3 suspects charged Thursday, but she says after asking him to stop, 18 year old Demarious Moore slapped her and called her a name.

That's when she says 18 year old Brian Bland Junior and a 16 year old came into the house on Red Oak, forced her to have sex and fondled her without consent.

MCS issued a statement Wednesday saying the suspects, who've been charged with aggravated rape, could be also face disciplinary action from the district up to expulsion, but offered no other comments on the situation due to privacy acts.

The rape was first reported to school security Tuesday when the victim returned to campus around 11 am.

She admitted she'd left school and gone to the abandoned home voluntarily earlier that morning.

Thursday MCS addressed the issue of students leaving campus in yet another statement, saying it strictly prohibited students, regardless of age or grade level to leave campus and has directed its school based staff to closely monitor student attendance.

MCS Parent Johnetta Riley, says instead of statements, Superintendent Dr. Kriner Cash needs to step forward and talk.

"I think it should be him in person so we can see the sincerity he feels. This is important. our children are important."

Earlier this week during a new conference on a separate matter with Memphis Police, Cash was asked about his openess in discussing school-related issues.

"If it has to do with our students, we always make a comment… certainly I'm always willing to talk about it."

However our requests for on-camera comments and answers to our questions were again denied Thursday.
