Ophelia Ford Back at State Capitol

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Despite reports that she would sidelined for awhile, Tennessee Senator Ophelia Ford rejoined her colleagues in Nashville.

The Memphis Democrat stood on the Senate floor Wednesday and thanked lawmakers for their prayers during her recent illness.

Ford says her doctors have given her a "100 percent good bill of health."

Family members had indicated she suffered complications from an unspecified surgical procedure and could miss the entire legislative session.
