Memphis, Tn - Another woman in Northeast Memphis was victimized. Police say the rapist's M-O matches five other rapes since May. Until now, investigators only had a vague description of the rapist. But with this recent rape, officers were able to get a possible description of the suspect's car.

Only four weeks separate the most recent attacks in Northeast Memphis. Officers say the rapist targeted a woman January 29th at the "Jennifer Meadows Apartments," near Covington Pike and Raleigh LaGrange. That's where Erica Broadnex lives.

"We have several single women around here. And, we're just trying to look out for each other right now, "Broadnex said.

The Police Department held a news conference a month ago, explaining it had a serial rapist on its hands. Now investigators are able to release a description of the suspect's car. Officers say it could be a red, two-door, 1995 to 1998 Honda Civic, with tinted windows.

The suspect's description has been hard to come by. Police say that's because of the way he attacks the women. Officers say in at least three cases, he goes to great lengths to conceal his face, by hiding it, or covering the eyes of his victims.

"I don't think he would want anybody to do it to his mother, or his sister, or even his daughter. I think criminals need to pay attention to what they're doing. They are hurting people. And, they need to stop," Broadnex said.

This recent rape makes six, since May. Officers say he started targeting women under 30. All of the rapes but one have happened in apartment complexes. And, he's entering through unlocked sliding glass doors or windows, even though many of the victims lived on the second floor. Broadnex says she always keeps her second-floor apartment locked, "We have to learn how to protect ourselves as woman."

Police want to remind everyone again, to keep locking your doors... even your windows and balcony doors. If you have any information, call Crimestoppers, at 528-CASH.
