LAKELAND, Tenn. - Shelby County Sheriff's deputies arrested three teenagers Thursday morning, accused of several vehicle burglaries in the Lakeland area.
Deputies pulled over a vehicle on Highway 64 just after 2:00am after the father of one of the teens had reported it stolen. Several GPS devices and other electronics were found in the vehicle. During the search, a call was sent out about a vehicle burglary that had happened just moments before the suspects were stopped.
The burglary victim arrived at the scene and positively identified items that had been stolen from his vehicle. The teens then admitted to deputies that they had broken into several other vehicles at the victim's apartment complex, as well as other areas.
The suspects, ages 15, 16 and 17-years old, were charged with vehicle burglary and taken to Memphis Juvenile Court. The teens could face additional charges as the investigation continues.
