PADUCAH, Ky. - More than 450 churches in Kentucky and Tennessee are expected to attend the Memphis Conference of The United Methodist Church in Paducah this week.
The annual gathering started on Sunday and lasts through Wednesday. The 172nd conference will center on worship and fellowship, but members also plan to take care of church business for the upcoming year, including ordaining new pastors and planning church budgets, according to The Paducah Sun.
The conference will also choose two laity and two clergy delegates to send to the general and jurisdictional conferences in 2012.
