Memphis, Tn - About 75 people in Hickory Hill turned out to learn more about the new Unified School District on Monday night.
But, the transition planning commission expected hundreds.
The meeting is part of the ongoing listening tours.
The commission said an automated message was sent out to all MCS ABD Shelby County parents phones, but some complained they didn't get the message.
The commission is looking into the problem. They said some parents should've received emails too.
During the meeting, people in the audience questioned what Memphis students will gain from the merger, who will lead the new school district and whether charter schools will be affected.
Some brought up concerns about possible suburban school districts getting school buildings that belong the county.
Some say separate districts would hurt those students outside of it.
The next stop on the listening tour is at Westwood High School at 6pm on Tuesday.
