After staying out of the spotlight for nearly a week following their infamous White House State Dinner appearance, a Virginia couple is speaking out, doing photo shoots and raising eyebrows.
On Tuesday, Micheale and Tareq Salahi spent all day here inside the Halcyon House in Georgetown, where they were doing a photo shoot for a book. They're not answering any questions, but according to some who were inside, they are enjoying their time in the spotlight.
Earlier Tuesday, the Salahis appeared on NBC's Today Show, explaining how the party crash heard round the world has made their lives unbearable. Then, two hours later, they arrived at the Georgetown photo shoot. FOX 5's cameras captured them in high spirits—smiling, sharing hugs and kisses, and not answering any of the questions our reporter asked.
"What do you think of all this attention you're getting and what are you here for today?" shouted WTTG reporter Claudia Coffey.
Michaele's hair dresser, Dennis Roche, said she was posing for a photo shoot for both Bravo's The Real Housewives of D.C. and an upcoming book, but our cameras weren't invited in.
Roche says he did Michaele's hair this weekend, and he says she's handling all the attention well.
"She seems to be doing great, and she's a wonderful person," Roche said.
At one point, we were told the photo shoot was cancelled. The Bravo crew would not be showing, and the Salahis left-- still without answering any questions. Then, a half hour later, they returned through a back entrance and the photo shoot resumed.
"The White House says you were not invited. Is the White House lying?" shouted WTTG reporter Claudia Coffey, but the Salahis again did not respond.
Dell Martin, who works at the Halcyon House, says the atmosphere inside resembled a party.
"It was kind of nice," Martin said. "Everybody was around laughing joking. It was live."
FOX 5 was told the Bravo crew was going to be filming this photo shoot, but they would not show because of all the other media crews outside.
