(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Italian dictator Benito Mussolini's brain and blood were offered for sale on eBay, according to the London Times .
Alessandra Mussolini, the far-right Italian politician and granddaughter of the Fascist dictator, told police the preserved remains of the body were stolen from a hospital in Milan where Mussolini's autopsy was conducted after he got killed at the end of the World War II.
"I was advised this morning that pieces of my grandfather's brain and some of his blood were being sold on eBay for 15,000 euros," she told the Telegraph . "This is very serious, these are the kinds of things we have to guard against."
The items were initially offered for 15,000 euros ($22,290), but eBay said in a statement that the auction had been withdrawn shortly after it appeared and "before any offer could be made."
eBay said the offer violated its rules which forbid the sale of "any human organic material."
Previously unpublished diaries by Mussolini's longtime mistress which were recently uncovered described the ruthless leader as a fierce anti-Semite, who proudly said that his hatred for Jews preceded Adolf Hitler's and that he vowed to "destroy them all."
Another recently uncovered document, a hand-written report from a French spy in 1924, described Hitler as "the German Mussolini" who was "a very cunning demagogue."
