MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis Police shot a woman behind a Beale Street nightclub after she shot five people and turned the gun on the cops.
Around 3:00am Sunday, officers stationed at the Beale and Fourth area heard multiple gunshots coming from behind Club Crave at 380 Beale. When they arrived on the scene, five people were found with gunshot wounds. Two were taken to the hospital in critical condition, three in non-critical.
The armed female suspect was ordered to drop her weapon, but she pointed the gun at police. She was shot by officers and taken to The Med in critical condition. No officers were injured.
According to MPD Sgt. Alyssa Macon-Moore, The two officers involved in the shooting have been routinely relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of this investigation.
