Memphis, Tn - Convicted drug dealer Demetrious Fields, known as 'Meat,' says Craig Petties kept them set up with cars for his contract killers and drivers to use that wouldn't draw attention, as well as FBI jackets for members to wear when they needed to grab those suspected of stealing drugs from the organization.
By 2006 the government says 5 people were murdered by the enterprise, 4 of which Fields gave testimony on Wednesday. Fields time on the stand included details on the two murders for which cousins Clinton and Martin Lewis are accused. Marcus Turner was kidnapped and found dead in September 2006.
Fields says once Clinton, aka 'Goldie' kidnapped Turner, he was held hostage in a van parked behind a house in East Memphis for two and a half days. Turner was held hostage to see if he knew anything about 200 kilos of stolen cocaine. When he didn't, Fields says Petties still wanted him dead and had Clinton kill him.
Fields says Martin aka 'M,' was the shooter behind Mario McNeil's death in March 2007. Because of threats McNeil allegedly made toward Petties' mother, Fields says Petties put a contract out on him. Once spotted at a local chicken wing shop by another member, Fields says Martin went in and shot McNeil. Though he couldn't say how much Martin was paid for the hit, Fields did say Martin bought a truck shortly after he murder and was going through the money 'real fast.'
