FORREST CITY, Ark. - St. Francis County investigators say they need anyone with credible information to come forward about the killing of a cross-dresser whose body was found along a highway near Forrest City.

Twenty-five-year-old Marcel Tye was discovered March 8 on Arkansas Highway 334. Preliminary reports from the Arkansas Crime Lab show Tye died from a single gunshot wound to the head and blunt force trauma from being run over and dragged underneath a vehicle.

The sheriff's department believes Tye may have been run over as the perpetrator fled the scene.

Sheriff Bobby May told the Forrest City Herald that officials believe the killer has local ties. May says there are some suspects in the case but he didn't identify them.

He says the public's help is needed to solve the case.
