Man Expelled from Polk Co. after 'Relations' with Horse, Dog

MENA, Ark. - A man who pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct with his neighbor's horse and dog has been placed on probation and ordered to leave Polk County.

John Coppes, 25, entered the plea on Tuesday. The judge told him he has 30 days to move out of the county.

Prosecutors say Coppes is banned from having any contact with a 13-year-old girl who witnessed his acts with her pets. Coppes was ordered to undergo psychological counseling and pay a $500 fine.

Coppes pleaded guilty to two counts of bestiality and a single count of trespassing. A public sexual indecency was dropped because the statute requires the participation of two human beings for a conviction.

Coppes could have faced up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine for each bestiality charge.

Coppes was arrested Dec. 13 in his neighbor's horse pen.
