MEMPHIS, Tenn. - For the 3rd year in a row the Raleigh United Methodist Church hosted its Bi-Annual Job Fair, with more than a thousand people coming out Tuesday.

Outside the church, a line of unemployed Memphians could be seen as far as the eye can see.

With the event in its 3rd year, Pastor John Holt said the visual is a cold reality of the state of the economy here in the Mid-South. "We were anticipating 800 to 1000, and we're well over 1200 at this point so well have between 15 and 16 hundred."

With more than 20 area companies represented offering hundreds of jobs, those looking for employment describe the struggle of not having an income.

"It's real tough," said job seeker Monicqua Goodwin. "You got to make a living, if you don't how you going to survive?"

State District 98 Representative Antonio Parkinson was on hand, encouraging those who showed up to stand up and fight for the jobs being offered Tuesday. "We need to lock arms, pull ourselves together and help each and every single citizen gain employment to improve quality of life."
