Memphis, Tn - Now that Congress has passed a health care overhaul, President Barack Obama is expected to sign it quickly. A senior administration official says it's likely the President will sign the bill Tuesday. But what does it mean to the average American?

We know many of you have very basic questions, some concerns, and are worried about what this change means for you. Doctor Manoj Jain sat down in the Fox 13 studios to answer questions just one day after Sunday night's milestone with the house approving legislation that will change the face of healthcare in America.

Question: How monumental are these changes?

Jain: "This is going to benefit the 47 million uninsured Americans, its going to help about 32 million Americans get insurance. The problem often is that people can't afford it. This bill will help subsidize those people so they can afford insurance."

Question: If I already have health insurance, will I be affected?

Jain: "And, the answer is no. You can continue with your insurance, if you already have insurance."

Question: What if I lose my job, and I already have a condition?

Jain: "Guess what, you won't have to be afraid anymore that if you lose your job. No insurance companies can deny you because of pre-existing conditions."

Question: How will I choose a plan?

Jain: "There will be many choices under the new plan of people having to choose from different insurance's that are available. And that will give people a better option which fits their lifestyle, and which fits their financial situation."

Question: Will the new plan mean I have to change my doctor?

Jain: "Essentially that doesn't happen at all. This bill does not come into the clinic. It does not interfere in the doctor/patient relationship."

Question: How will this effect senior citizens and the elderly each year?

Jain: "It will save lives. It will save 18 thousand lives, and a study shows it will save 13 thousand lives in age group 54 to 65 years old. Those near elderly will be saved because of health insurance. It’s probably the single best thing we can do to help Americans."

Tomorrow, the Senate will take up revisions to the legislation that the house has embraced. To get more questions answered, log onto our website. You can also submit any questions you may have.
