Protecting Your Pets in the Heat

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The heat outside is not to be taken lightly and while we worry about ourselves and our children, we need to think about our pets during this extreme weather. Dr. Jennifer Karnes with Central Animal Hospital joined Good Morning Memphis with more on how to keep your animals cool.

Pets & Heat:
- Never leave a pet unattended in the car
- Short walks when it's hot.
- Long walks in the early morning and late evening.
- Always have fresh water available for your pets during hot days.
- Bring water if going outside.
- Never leave a dog outdoors without adequate shade and water.
