Memphis, TN - It’s a call to stop child abuse. Last year, the crisis center teamed up with Memphus Mayor AC Wharton to launch a special local hotline. Every call is potentially life-saving.
Mike Labonte, executive director of the crisis center, came by Good Morning Memphis to discuss the crisis center.
- Trained volunteers take calls about children in trouble.
- They will help determine the best course of action.
- What kind of trouble? Just about any kind. Assault, abuse and abandonment. Beatings, bullying and neglect. Sexual assault. Runaway teenagers. Babies crying too long.
- If you're not sure but you suspect something may be wrong, call the hotline.
- Every call is confidential.
