The History of Beale in Pictures

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Capturing the history and the atmosphere of Beale Street year after year has been the goal of Memphis photographer Blake Billings.

Blake Billings spent 5 years on Beale Street, taking photographs, capturing portraits of Memphis musicians, not by being stand-offish, but by getting up close and personal with the camera.

Flash forward five years after Blake started his Beale Street photography endeavor, and he's got a new book out called Memphis Blues.
