CONWAY, Ark. - "I just have a hard time believing the votes we cast here were the ones that 'swayed' the vote."

Conway native Sonja Keith is not only the editor for local based 501 Life Magazine, she also headed a Kris Allen task force and admits she invited AT&T employees to the watch party to help people technologically challenged text their votes. She was shocked it made the news.

"I was really surprised and in fact someone emailed me the link to the story last night and at first I thought it was a joke because I really don't see that as being the case at all," says Keith.

AT&T confirmed in a statement a few local employees attended two watch parties, one in Conway and one in Little Rock and provided them a small amount of demo phones for texting and tutorials to those who wanted it, but Conway locals say no one was trying to vote unfairly.

"Honestly as a community we would not want Kris to win if it was not legitimate so I can say 100% we believe he's the Idol and he won it fairly and that we're very proud of him, " says Kathy Wyrick with the Conway Chamber of Commerce.

In a statement FOX Entertainment says the results are fair, accurate, and verified and in no way did any individual unfairly influence the outcome. Allen fans couldn't agree more.

"I just think he won it fair and square," says Conway native, Chris VanJohnson.

Keith says no one was trying to outsmart the voting, but instead to make sure their vote would count.

"I just think everyone saw Kris as a talented young man and they wanted to offer their help and support in anyway they could, " says Keith.
