AM ANCHOR/REPORTER

Work an assigned beat, establish contacts, identify stories of relevance to the community, report live and taped as assigned, adhere to newsroom policies about news gathering and fair/accurate reporting/writing. Anchor weekday AM newscasts and fill-in for other newscasts as needed to include story selections, presentations, and executions for those broadcasts. Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field required. Minimum three years paid broadcast news experience as a reporter or anchor. Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and be computer literate. Must be a team player with ability to work under pressure.
 

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER/ASSIGNMENT EDITOR

Assist producers in the production of daily newscasts to include writing scripts, researching stories, working with assignment desk, field crews, graphics, and newsroom management. Will also cover assignment desk as needed for varied shifts. Must have a degree in Journalism or related field and minimum one year of paid newsroom experience as assignment editor or associate producer. Must be computer literate and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Need to be a team player who workd well under stressful conditions.

 

WEB PRODUCER

Work closely with National Sales and Editorial team to manage all production/quality aspects of Stations’ web sites. Conceptualize/produce high profile creative on-line material. Perform duties of on-line writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing and editorial gathering. Facilitate the editorial gathering of local web news, gleaning information from various sources and contacts and reproducing the above material into strong compelling web material. Applications include HTML, JSP, FLASH and Photoshop. Interface with Editorial managers and supervisors from the Broadcasting side of newsroom to create a cohesive working atmosphere, managing the delivery of content using new distribution platforms. Ensure Web sites are coded to standards consistent with web style guides set by National in-house team.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus 2-3 years of web production experience. Expert knowledge of web production, traffic reporting and ad serving systems. Solid understanding of web standards, design and usability. Knowledge of common web and application architectures. Knowledge of print and broadcast newsroom standards and styles. Understanding of user on-line behavior. Highly skilled in all areas of a/v digitizing, editing and encoding techniques. Advanced knowledge of internet publishing software and content management systems. Position demands excellent print/web writing, web editing, interface design and web production skills. Handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a strict deadline-oriented environment. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work under pressure as a cohesive member of a team. Knowledge of HTML, JSP, FLASH and Photoshop.

 

PRODUCER

Write, arrange, and coordinate live and taped elements into a compelling, well-paced newscast. Communicate well with field crews, assignment desk, directors, and newsroom management. Exercise sound news judgment. Requires Bachelors’ degree in Journalism or related field and minimum two years of paid newsroom experience as producer. Must be computer literate and possess good interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this position.


ASSISTANT CHIEF ENGINEER

Supervise overall tech operation, maintenance, system design/installation, equipment repair, and training. Must have substantial experience with all aspects of broadcast engineering including: transmitter, microwave, studio, and FCC/OSHA rules. Requires 5 years broadcast management experience. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and possess strong leadership skills. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders to a height of 20 ft and have ability to audibly and visually determine signal quality. Will work flexible shifts and 24 hr on-call as needed. Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology and/or SBE certification preferred.
