MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Lauren Johnson is the Mid-South's only television health reporter. Why? Because Health Matters at FOX13 News.
Prior to coming to Memphis, Lauren wrestled gators and flew airplanes in Orlando, Florida where she started her career as a general assignment reporter, but switched gears to become a feature reporter for Central Florida News 13 focusing on stories that inspire and motivate.
Before joining News 13 Lauren interned in South Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia and, most notably, with ABC News in New York. She worked for both "20/20" and "Primetime."
Lauren grew up in Atlanta and received her bachelor's degree from Furman University in South Carolina. Even then, her potential was evident. In her senior year, her peers voted her "Most Likely to Succeed".
One of the things Lauren says she enjoys most about her job as a reporter is "meeting new people everyday, each with a different story to share."
Reporters are constantly on the run, and Lauren is no exception, both at work and in her spare time. She was a track athlete in high school and college. Her other hobbies include reading, shopping, traveling and spending quality time with family and friends.
Although she misses her friends and family in Atlanta, she always looks forward to them visiting her in the BBQ capital of the world.
